All the details of your web page are neatly arranged in this panel. Click Here for more information about our cpanel. Web Design Notes. All of 27Levels web designs are true HTML hand programmed originals. We don't use programs such as "Front Page" to program any of our web pages. This gives us the freedom to create any design you can imagine. Great pride is taken in programming all of our very artistic designs. Many internet companies stamp out web designs that look just like all the rest. Each one of 27Level's web pages has a fresh, non-standard looking design. 27Level's web design style is subtle, but effective. Our graphics are bright, colorful, and artistic. If you find that our styles can't fit your needs, let us help you find a designer who can. Warning To Dial Up Users: If you use dial up internet services such as AOL, Juno, or NetZero, be warned that these companies now decrease image pixel quality. By adjusting the pixels on image files, dial up companies can seed up the down load time. You may notice that while dial up is getting faster, the images on web pages are getting blurrier. All the images used on 27Levels designs are extremely sharp and clear. If you notice blurring or blocking of images on our page, ask your internet provider how to restore image pixels to the highest quality. 27Levels knows that many viewers still use dial up internet connections, so we test our designs on a dial up computer. We check each page for load speed and adjust file sizes if needed. No home page should take more then 30 seconds to load on a dial up computer (older computers and connections may very). Each page is also tested on both a 15 inch and a 21 inch monitor. We can design our pages to adjust to fit any size monitor. Programs. 27Levels has registered copies of Adobe PhotoShop CS3, Paint Shop Pro, and Serif PhotoPlus to name a few. We also have Adobe Dreamweaver CS3 and AutoCAD 2008. These programs are the key to our artistic images and logos. We can't stress how important good image editing programs are to a web designer. If you choose not to use our designs, please ask your web master which image editing tools they have and research those programs. Java Scripts. The designers at 27Levels enjoy web pages with moving items or fancy menus. So we incorporate some type of Java Script or mouse-over effect into most of our designs. The little added touches make a great difference in the finished web page. The worst mistake most web designers make is filling their designs with to many cheesy Java Script effects. 27Levels will use only effective Java codes. Guest Books, Message Boards, Counters, And PayPal. Some programming codes 27Levels can add to your web page, such as a hit counter, can really give you feed back on how well your web page is doing. Guest books are also a great tool. This lets your viewers give you direct feed back on how they found you and what they like or dislike about your page. We can set up a Shopping Cart on your web page using PayPal. This lets people order your product from your web page and pay you with their credit card. Advertisement and Search Engines. Once your web page is up and running, it will be your responsibility to advertise it. Newspaper adds, fliers, business cards, or bill boards are all great ways to advertise your web page. You can have the best web page in the world, but few will know about it unless you advertise. Advertisement on the internet is done through search engine companies. The price for this can range from a few hundred a year to a few hundred a month depending on your needs. 27Levels will design your web page so that it will be picked up easier by spider programs (free search engine companies) and also submit your page to a few search engines for you. This will bring you some out side traffic to your page. You may decide after a few months that this is enough. If not, we can submit you to other search engines at anytime. 27Levels WILL NOT garantee any amount of hits to your web page. A great web page is 10% design and 90% advertisement. What Should Your Page Look Like? Surf the internet. Write down some web addresses of pages that really caught your eye and email them to us. That would help us to understand what you like in a web page. If you're still not sure what you want your web page to look like? No problem, we will work with you until you're happy. Ownership. Upon turn over, your web page content and images on it become your property. It will be your responsibility to update it. If you think you might want to make updates on your own, please let us know before we get started. 27Levels can write the code with little notes embedded to help you. We will also offer phone support or training lessons. Be fore-warned, if you or your employee or an outside company change the code to the point that the web page will no longer work correctly, we WILL charge you to restore the page or fix their mistakes. If you would like 27Levels to update your page for you, we charge a flat rate of $25 per hour, half hour min. Your web domain address and hosting are the property of 27Levels and must be renewed annually. Web domain addresses will be resold to the public if your contract with 27Levels is not renewed. Is your current web page "road-kill" on the information highway? If your current page has not been updated in the last month, or even year, it is not working for you. Studies show that the average person comes back to a web page SEVEN times before they purchase any items from it. If you don't have something new for them every time they return, they won't even be back for a seventh visit. Was your current web page designed before 2000? If so your web page is extremely out-dated. E-mail us your current web page's address, 27Levels might be able to help. How to pick a web designer that is right for you. If you've found 27Levels.com, you have already realized how important a professional web page is for your company. You may even be considering purchasing a web design from us. Before you take the next step, you must ask yourself what the purpose of your web page should be. Do you want it to be simply a basic information page with your company's info, name, address, phone, and fax? Do you want images of your products? Do you want viewers to purchase your item's on-line from your web page? These are all factors that can greatly increase the final cost of your design no matter who your designer will be. If you already have an idea in mind, then the web designer you choose to bring your idea to life is extremely important. There are so many types of web design styles out there that it might seem hard to pick one. Here are a few things to look at. For starters, how does the designer's own page look. Is it "under construction"? Any good web page should always be under construction. The fact that the designer has to mention it on the page is a sign of insecurity in their designs or a lack of attention to details. If a page is that far from being completed, it should not be posted at all. Second, does the designer's own page have broken links, links that go to error pages, missing images, miss-spelled words, or just a bad looking design? Do they display a hit counter with under a thousand hits? That is a good sign that they are new or fly by night. Any of those items should raise a red flag to you right away. If the designer can't keep up their own page, what makes you think he or she will updated yours when you need it. Next, you should check out the designer's examples. If they call their examples a "portfolio", that usually means that they went to some type of school for web design. That could be either good or bad. Personally, we think a web designer that is self-taught has better designs on average because they have the love for designing that some trade schools can't teach. What should you look for in their examples? Anything that doesn't seem to belong. Most web designers take elements and images from other web pages. That is how they learn. If you see a menu or an image, for example, that just seems like it came from some where else, most likely it did. So why would you pay a designer to copy you a web page from some where else? Make sure all their designs are owned by them. Stay free from cheesy effects. Many web designers fill their pages with flashing clocks or flashy objects that move around the cursor. These effects were common about five years ago. Since then, most designers realized that they hurt the page more then help by distracting the viewers. Last, look at their layouts. Do they flow nice or do they just look bad? A bad designed web page could really turn a viewer away. Another thing to consider is what type of tools the designer uses to create his web pages. Have you heard of "Front Page"? That is kind of a cheater program that anyone could use to make a web page, yes even you. This program lets you drag and drop a web page, then writes the code for you. Designers that use this program most likely don't even understand the HTML codes the program uses. Designers that don't use these types of programs, hand type their code. That means they fully understand how to program a web page from scratch with out the use of any other programs. They are few and far between these days, but demand much respect. Imagine if you could design anything you wanted with out the limitations from a program such as Front Page. That would ultimately lead to better designs. All of 27Level's designs are hand coded. We hope this has helped you understand what to look for in a web designer. Thank You, Please Return To 27Levels Soon. |
