nancy's old dell has been plodding along and I finally got her upgraded.

I wanted something that would keep up without breaking the bank. every time i would "build" one on dell, hp or anywhere else it usually ended up upwards of $3k. Here lately it was getting closer to $2k but still more than I wanted to spend for a dual core, good graphics card w/ HDMI out, blu ray rom, 17" etc.

Was at Sam's and came across one that had most of what I wanted. Amazingly the price was much better than expected. I tried building the same items on the HP site and it came up to about $1300.

All this

Still a few things I'd liked to have different but laptop options aren't nearly as available as desktop, and for the price difference I'm not complaining.

Very nice. On President's Day Dell held a one day sale where you could get a laptop for $299. Granted it had a 9" monitor, 4gb HD and Linux that is still a heck of a deal.
